While I’ve written about Super Video converter a while back, now there are many more free and even portable video converters to convert audio and video into various formats to suit your mobile phone, media players and computer.
- Mediacoder : Its a very nicely made transcoding software which supports a plethora of audio / video formats. The main thing i liked about this software is its nice UI and ability to cut portions of videos before converting. But on the other hand tweaking the various video and audio encoder settings was a bit confusing at first. The site has even a zipped portable version so there is no need for installation.
- Pazera Video Converter : This is a collection of portable video converters which too supports a large collection of audio and video formats. I tried converting a 350 MB avi file to Sony Ericsson’s 320 x 240 3GP format which it took almost 5 minutes and gave me a 9 MB file with no major drop in quality. The interface is sparse but there were many settings
