I came across Sony Ericsson K320i from my friend HoneyKing , who was using it for 3 months. I was impressed by the phone not only by its looks but also for its ‘Value - for - Money’ features. Some of my impressions on this phone are,
- LOOKS : I would say it looks cool especially the brown color. Looks sophisticated with nicely spaced keypad and weghing at a mere 80 grams.
- PHONE : As a phone, the reception and call quality is solid with a good speaker phone. Battery comes good for a talk time of 4 hours.
- FUNCTIONS : Equipped with a 128 x 160 65K UBC color screen, the screen is not as bright as TFT but it is quite good for a budget phone. Ringtones - Midi / MP3 both are excellently reproduced and loud. Phonebook has space for 500 contacts with multiple entries like Mobile,Home.Office, E-Mail. SMS / MMS / E-Mail can be sent & received.
- MULTIMEDIA : A VGA camera is provided for snaps & video recording. 16 MB is provided for storing data. Camera is quite good for a VGA one. Themes, wallpapers, ringtones (MP3/Midi) can be stored through USB / IR / Bluetooth and can be used to personalize your phone. Callers can be identified through a personal picture and ringtone. Java Games and Applications can be downloaded on to the phone.
- OFFICE : Through GPRS the mobile can be used to surf the net or can be connected to a PC / Laptop via USB cable / Infrared / Bluetooth to be used as a GPRS modem. Push E-Mail is also supported via GPRS.
VERDICT : At a estimated street price of Rs.5,100/- (115 US $) its a great phone to own for people looking for official as well as personal use. A FM Tuner and EDGE capability would have made it Perfect.
COMPETITORS : Nokia 6070, Motorola L6i , Samsung X620.
