In the ongoing posts on Open Source Softwares, this is the third and final part mentioning some more open source softwares which are useful for various tasks on the PC. Here are a few,
- FileZilla : FileZilla is a fast FTP and SFTP client for Windows with a lot of features. FileZilla Server is a reliable FTP server.
- GAIM : Gaim is a GTK+ instant messaging application. It supports multiple protocols, including AIM, ICQ, Yahoo!, MSN, Jabber, IRC, Napster, Gadu-Gadu, Zephyr, and SILC. It has many common features found in other clients, as well as many unique features.
- Azureus : Azureus is a powerful, full-featured, cross-platform bittorrent client.
- QFlash : QFlash is a c++ open source IDE to create flash (swf) animation files. It uses ming and qt libraries.
- Tetris Queen : Classic Tetris game to pass away your time with 50 levels and background music

Yeah, the info on open source is real gr8…
How abt writing something on all apps getting web based (say google docs, spreadsheet)…
Is there going to be a day when there will be no full-fledged OS, software installations to worry abt… Our desktop turning into just a small wired box (like mobile), where u cud get4free/request respective application services as required… what do u think?

Thanks man..Yeah Google mainly is looking to move away from a traditional OS based system to a more generic system which provides all services on demand irrespective of the platform..but this will take a long time i think
