First in the line of Sony Ericsson’s Green Heart intiative and the cheapest in the Green Heart series (Rs. 6,000/- [125 US$] ), here are my first impressions on the phone

naite-greenheart-red

  • Packaged in a small box along with the stereo headset, energy efficient charger, 2GB microSD card and few leaflets its a basic mid-end phone.
  • The phone was a combo colored with Black top frame and the remaining front and back with ‘Ginger Red’ color. It looks good enough with the other color being available is vapor silver.
  • The phone is made of ‘eco-friendly’ materials it looks slim and light weight at 108 x 47 x 12.6 mm and 84 grams.
  • The 2.2″ TFT LCD screen with 240 x 320 resolution was nice and bright
  • The A200 user interface tweaked with social networking shortcuts at the front screen and the tabbed interface and threaded messages was a breeze to work with
  • Other things included are a 2 MP cam with no flash, media player, 3G with video call, FM Radio, usual organizer tools and lots of java apps and games

More about this phone in upcoming posts…stay tuned…meanwhile let me know you favorite ‘Green Heart’ phone :-)

skin-caseIn a small town like mine getting good quality mobile phone accessories is a slightly difficult task. One of my friend’s suggested Fommy, I’ve used it now for 3-4 times to buy accessories for my phone and my friend’s too. So here are my views on different aspects of my shopping experience

  • Quality / Price : The quality of the product was good to ok with lots of choices but prices are bit higher i feel when compared to shopping directly
  • Payment  / Shipping : They offer a variety of payment modes, I use only internet banking which I’ve found sometimes the order didn’t get confirmed the first time but it ultimately did and shipping – the items usually get delivered by the 10th day.
  • Deals : I get emails of various deals in my inbox which makes the items a bit cheaper
  • Customer Care : The customer care which I’ve used via email were pretty prompt in one case refunding the amount and another case of re-sending the missing items in my order.

Ever since smartphones came mods, customizations has become a often used term not only in the geek’s paradise but also for the average smartphone user. Here are some of the sites I came across and found useful,

  • XDA – Developers : Many of my friends suggested this site and it seems to cater to lots of smartphones and seems the first place for mods.
  • The UnLockr : This site seems have to excellent articles for modding and customizations
  • Cyanogen Mod : For android based phones, this is the place to look for custom ROM’s
  • AndroidSpin : Even though this site has all android related news and stuff, this site also has news on various custom rom’s available out there for android phones.
